Yeah, it’s a big shift for Japan after so many years of pacifism. I hope this build-up really serves as a deterrent and not a provocation. The drone tech sounds impressive though, maybe it will help keep things peaceful if everyone knows Japan means business.

Japan has a huge debt already, and most of their people are elders who need care. Why not focus more on social programs instead? More weapons just mean more risk of war.

I guess the regional tensions with China and North Korea are really pushing them to take a tougher stance. Hopefully, this doesn’t escalate tensions further but provides enough deterrence.
